OK, but really, if you've never seen Martin Luther King, Jr. give the whole "I have a dream" speech, you ought to take a look.
This weekend the Things and I went to the Olympic Sculpture Park
and did a little art class.
It was about sculpture
and we all had a marvelous time.

The Aged Ps came with and they wandered through the park while we did our class and then we all went to the model train show at the Pacific Science Center.
Being typical grandparents my mom and dad found the little train whistles the Things were given to decorate (and which they LOVED blowing) to be endearing and essential to childhood, unlike the Things' mother (that would be me in case you lost track), who was pretty sure they were gifts from Satan, directly delivered from the pics of hell and wicked by their very nature, objects that should be discarded immediately and probably smashed to bits first.
We also attended a star show at the Science Center's planetarium. The very nice staff member doing the show asked a lot of questions to involve the audience. She asked if anyone had an idea why Ursa Major had such an unusually long and fluffy tail.
Thing Two suggested in an aside, thankfully only heard by one or two people in our immediate vicinity, that perhaps the bear had shoved a racoon up its butt.
Aaaah, it's wonderful to have such creative and verbal children.
You certainly have a way to make people smile. Thanks for the great youtube link.
ReplyDeleteLove the family art. Such talent.
LOL!!! At least Thing Two doesn't have a problem with voicing his thoughts. Your children sound like mine, you never know what they are going to come up with and who is going to hear it when they do.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great day!
thanks for the link to the speech. so important.
ReplyDeleteas for the creatvie things.....i want to come along next time!
I wonder where Thing Two got his verbal creativity?
ReplyDeleteYou know how to throw a fun day.
LMAO...poor Ursa!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Tis true, a little known fact about Ursa Major!
ReplyDeleteAwesome sculptures too! Very creative.
I wonder if I tasted good.
ReplyDeleteI freakin adore happy bunny. ;O) Just saying.
ReplyDeleteI like playing with clay. too bad I can't sculpt worth a darn. Nice sculptures.
ReplyDeleteI'll never look at the sky at night again without thinking about raccoon stuffed butts!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Happy Bunny is so very funny.
ReplyDeleteWhy do grandparents torture us by providing our kids with loud obnoxious toys?
Loved Thing's response. "Butt" is Bronwyn's favourite word right now. She'd have been rolling on the floor.

Damn! I thought that said, "I have a dream, and in it, something CUTS you."
ReplyDeleteStill like it, though.
