In which Logo™ exhausts Mr. Logo...over and over and over

get your mind out of the gutter
:p

Paris was fabulous,
but of course!
I got to see most of the stuff I wanted to see,
and that was a pretty long list.

Sunday:
Even though we arrived in the afternoon I didn't see why we couldn't get in a full day of sightseeing. So we headed off for Sacre Coeur, the MontMartre area, the Moulin Rouge, and Trinite church in the Pigalle area. Dinner was quiche from a bakery, mmmm.

Monday (Valentine's Day):
I got to see the Louvre, surrounding area, and then Eiffel Tower.
We had pizza and red wine in a tiny, saphire-red restaurant right down the street from our hotel, delish.

Tuesday:
The Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Orsay Museum, bus tour of major sights,Pere Lachaise cemetary, Then we did a Rick Steves historic walk with his downloadable audioguide. AWESOME!
The stops on that include;
Notre Dame on Ile de Cite, Deportation museum, Ile St. Louis, the Left Bank, the Latin Quarter, St. Severin, Boulavard St. Michel, St. Andre de Arts, and Place St. Michel.
I did stop to feed the poor Mr. Logo though, on Rue St. Severin. We had a really incredible meal, I had dizzy chicken (3:30) and he had beef burgandy.

Wednesday:
Versailles (holy crap that is a big place), Army Museum and Napoleon's Tomb, Rue Cler, and back to the Latin Quarter for dinner. GYROS!

Thursday:
We met with a Parisian Greeter who took us all through the Marais district. We started at Place de la Bastille, where the prison is long gone but there is the new opera house, and saw Hotel de Sully, Place des Vosges,Victor Hugo's house, Rue des Rosiers, walked a Thursday street market, then Rue des Francs Bourgeois, and went to the Carnavalet Museum, and Rue Pavee, and finished off with a visit to the Holocaust Museum.
After Patricia left us we went to St. Chappelle, and the Rodin Museum which were two CAN'T MISS sights as far as I was concerned and then...
to the river front for a twilight boat tour up and down the Seine.
Our last stop was the Shakespeare and Company bookstore on the Left Bank.

Friday, my actual birthday, we lounged around, ate a late breakfast, packed up and headed for the airport.
Oh, after a brief stop at the pharmacy for a wrap. I, um, yah, I may have fallen off a curb, or two Wednesday, and...well, I think maybe I did something to my tendon.

Anyway, because the flight west was on my birthday I got to have 8 extra hours, which is pretty cool, although I did end up spending them on an airplane, which is less than spectacular.
We left Europe at 4:55pm and arrived in Seattle at 4:40pm the same evening.
Neat trick, eh?

5 days to go!

Did you hear about the Frenchman who jumped into the river in Paris?

He was declared to be in Seine.
