Melodious birds sing madrigals

The birds are enjoying our feeders again this year,

and the birds are not the ONLY ones enjoying them.
The pushy little squirrels have quite the attitude problem.
They not only want the bird seed and suet, they will chase the birds off to get them!
As you can see in these next few pictures, taken over the last couple years, the birds have been forced to share before,
with pushy deer,
in various seasons.Who, by the way, are very hard on bird feeders.
The rabbits were far better mannered.

As seen here last winter,

if the situations gets desperate enough

the birds will insist on getting their fair share and the squirrels just have to hang off to the side getting what they can.

However this year,

a new issue has presented itself.
The charming, and actobatic little character seen here...

has apparently figured out how to open the suet holder.

Cheeky little devil, hm?

Walt Whitman- "You must not know too much or be too precise or scientific about birds and trees and flowers and watercraft; a certain free-margin, and even vagueness - ignorance, credulity - helps your enjoyment of these things. "

Get a twirl-a-squirrel, it's better than 85% of what's on TV, trust me!

I'm not a squirrel fan, but kudos to them for their intrepid efforts.

Time to just scatter the suet and give up with the feeder, maybe?

Ok, I'm jealous. JEALOUS, JEALOUS, JEALOUS!!! I ain't got NO deers at my bird feeder. And the bunnies don't come near them. Oh, wait. Could that be because the feeders are way up high hanging from the roof gutter on my back porch?

Never mind.

But I still am jealous. Hmpf!
