There are people who are studying that question, especially when the answer is,
"YES!"
In fact, they are collecting images that show some of the push back against being constantly in contact,
like these images below:
So here is your chance to be involved in cutting-edge research.
Signs like this are springing up everywhere. If you see one take a picture of it and send it to the researcher doing this study (let's add an end date~ December 31st, 2014).
Also, if you'd like... share this invite with your friends around the country and the world.

I haven't been on a vacation in the last few years, but it's always refreshing to get away from the Internet when I'm gone. Then again, I don't even own a smartphone, so I'm already less plugged in than most.
i am chuckling at the exhortation to pick up one's phone and text a picture of something exhorting us to put our phones down.
Well, now I'll be looking for those.
I like a day that has me both connected and deliberately NOT connected. Balance and all.
This is the quandary that I call my life. I am all for unplugging and going outside - and yet i work for the number one cell phone company....
