55 Flash Fiction

The car weaved slightly to the left and accelerated as the distracted driver gestured wildly to the unseen caller on his cell phone. Though the intended recipient of these emphatic hand signals could not enjoy them, a motorcyclist attempting to change lanes very nearly had an impressive encounter because of them. Shut up and DRIVE!!

Scary! Maybe I need to add another offense to my cell phone laws. I do hate the talking on the cell phone while driving shit.

Ooooh!

When we first moved to CA we noticed that EVERYONE had cell phones, whereas in WI they had still been primarily a businessman thing. One of our first car-driving-cell-phone-talker encounters was with a one-armed man who was using his only arm to hold the phone. :-/

What a well made point. Pictures do illustrate the consequences of thinking one's own life takes precedence.

the picture is horrifying! it certainly punctuates the story.

That is so scary! Mr. B and I saw two motorcycle wrecks a few months ago and it was very terrifying. People need to get off the phone, pull their heads out of their butts and pay attention to motorcyclists on the road.

Hope you have a good weekend!

Motorcycles make me very nervous. I always try to be very cautious when sharing the road.

It is impossible for me to talk on a phone and drive, so I just don't do it. This photo and 55 is proof enough of people's selfishness when it comes to letting themselves be distracted when driving.

I don't recommend having a fondue pot in the front seat, either.

I too cannot stand the cell phone holding drivers. If something is so damned important that you need to talk in the car, buy head set or something. Oy

You will be pleased to know that I am courtesous to all motor-peoples on ze road and freeways. I think we should be extra cautious around you motorcycling types b/c maybe you cannot see the road like us. Or maybe ppl don't look out for them like they should.
