It's National Poetry Month, did you know?

I thought I would share another of my favorite poems with you all. I have rather a lot of them, but I've tried to part them out over time so as not to be tiresome. Anyway, if you have a favorite poem, and you are willing to tell us about it, stick it on your comment, or a link to it, per favore, and we can all share the love.

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

THE SONG OF WANDERING AENGUS

by: W.B. Yeats

I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And cut and peeled a hazel wand,
And hooked a berry to a thread;

And when white moths were on the wing,
And moth-like stars were flickering out,
I dropped the berry in a stream
And caught a little silver trout.

When I had laid it on the floor
I went to blow the fire a-flame,
But something rustled on the floor,
And some one called me by my name:
It had become a glimmering girl
With apple blossom in her hair
Who called me by my name and ran
And faded through the brightening air.

Though I am old with wandering
Through hollow lands and hilly lands,
I will find out where she has gone,
And kiss her lips and take her hands;
And walk among long dappled grass,
And pluck till time and times are done
The silver apples of the moon,
The golden apples of the sun.

Thank goodness for c and p.
That is my favorite poem of all time, dear glimmering girl.

that is such a beautiful poem, logo. you always find the best. so where do you find them?

roses are red,
violets are blue,
you look like a monkey,
and you smell like one too.

no wait, i think that belongs to the birthday song..
happy birthday to you..
you look like a monkey,
and you smell like one too.

yeah, that's it. oh well, i tried! ;)

I love so much poetry I couldn't name any one poem a favourite but
Samuel Taylor Coleridge's
The Suicide's Argument.Is high on my list...

Ere the birth of my life,
if I wished it or no
No question was asked me...
it could not be so !
If the life was the question,
a thing sent to try
And to live on be YES;
what can NO be ? to die.

NATURE'S ANSWER
Is't returned, as 'twas sent ? Is't no worse for the wear ?
Think first, what you ARE !
Call to mind what you WERE !
I gave you innocence,
I gave you hope,
Gave health, and genius, and an ample scope,
Return you me guilt, lethargy, despair ?
Make out the invent'ry ;
inspect, compare !
Then die...if die you dare !

( I'm always boring my readers with poetry, miserable poetry at that. LOL.)
