Show them all the beauty they possess inside.
Alternately,
go with the B.F. Skinner method.
Stick em in a box, in a cardboard box.
As we all know, that is better for their development. Right?
When our new computer arrived and was unpacked the Things, of course, decided the box was the best part of the whole deal. Thing Two immediately set up residence in the box, with a blanket and pillow, and his older brother obligingly closed him up in it.
Isn't that fun?
They thought so, and it gave me some uninterupted time to start fiddling with my new toy.
Yay!

I still play in the box that my grandfather Vern gave me thirty years ago. I do envy your "Skinner" box, Logo
I remember playing in boxes myself and my daughter did too. She filled them with pillows and blankets too. Is it a feeling of returning to the womb?
aaahhhh, brotherly love at its best as well....
Be sure to tell them NO PEEING in the box!
(save that for the scrolls..)
;)
Why thank you blogger for letting me in.
grrrr
Pretend I commented what I just said to you.
I have a garage full of boxes because I have almost three months to pack before moving into the new house and I have to fight my nine year old son to stay out of the boxes . I told my husband I didn't know why we bought our boy child a dirt bike for Christmas when a big ole card board box would have worked just as well! You have a lovely day Logo and enjoy that new computer .
It seems as if there are so few toys that allow children to use their imaginations. No wonder they love boxes, boxes can be anything they want them to be.
The boxes are always way better than what came inside!
I like the picture with the hand coming out. Just like an Addams Family cartoon.
"The B.F. Skinner method." Awesome.
As I recall, many kids get more excited by the box than they do with the toy that was in the box.
Boxes are forts. The sooner they're emptied of their distracting and pointless contents the better.
I need to remember to stop buying my kids crap and just give them boxes. That's what they always end up playing with the most anyway. . . :-P
Yay for Skinner boxes!
Strange how young boys are when they show interest for having their own house. And we adults can't see the value in the box! For us it's only waste.
Even our Cats understands the value of boxes.i.e. Cat-in-Box.
Nice story and pictures:-))
