The power is flickering again...

if we could stop already with the wind and the snow and the rain and whatnot, yeah, that would be great.
Ok, thanks.

In other news, we ended up with over $700 toward the Heifer Project and my mom is recovering from her surgery pretty well, although her blood pressure is way too high and not responding well to meds, so that is an ongoing concern.

It's been warm here in the middle of the country. Last year, I remember be awaken to the sounds of tornado sirens on New Year's.

For the blood pressure, I hear Diovan works well. That coupled with some sort of calcium channel blocker might help.

I love the Heifer Project! You can save a whole village with that amount of money.

I wish we were getting snow ! I haven't seen a good snow in years and I am so ready for it . I do believe that if I have to go through the cold weather then Mother Nature should at least bless me with some snow. Hang in there and I hope your power remains on !

Last year we had a freak wind that lasted almost a day and a half. After five or six hours it started to get annoying. After the first day, I was climbing the walls. The power of its relentlessness to scour one's last nerve was a revelation. Can't imagine what it would be like to live in some windy arctic tundra and get howled at day and night. I suppose you can get used to anything.

My mom lived on the SD prairie for a while. At one point she told me she was reading a book about a pioneer woman who was so sick of the wind that she shut herself in a trunk to try to get away from the noise.

My mom never did go that far, but her little metal windmill did fly to pieces in one of the 80mph episodes.

I hope your weather lightens up soon, and my prayers are with your mom.

I wish your mom luck, and your power luck, for that matter.

Glad the surgery went well. That's strange about the BP. Hope she continues to improve. I'll keep praying. :)

I'll hold your mom in my thoughts.

Now I know why you didn't show up to babysit...
