Yes, they smell and are messy, and not so good about the rules regarding food remaining at the table and no sneaking scraps to the dog,
which I don't personally mind so much,
but they also love puddles...
and ditches,
and see beauty in the gooey and disgusting.
What's not to love?

Boys rock!!!
I had a discussion with my kids years ago about the difference between grownup & adult. My daughter commented that the difference is adults still jump in puddles and grownups not only don't, they don't like it when other people do. This naturally led to a discussion about the difference between childish & childlike :-)

i am all over tha! you forgot bugs, and salamanders, and climbing trees, and swinging from ropes too!
You also forgot snots, farting and burping and the humor in them!!
Little girls are not much different - well my twins aren't - oy!!

And they're ruff and tuff.
They're like tupperware... they don't break, and they burp a lot.
That was cute. But when we first saw the pics, we thought they were picking up little stones to throw at us! Woof! Just kidding!
