Tuesday Trivia

Congrats to last week's winner, with a perfect score! Well done, Blue Bolt!
Second place went to the Village Idiot at 90.

Here is the quiz for today, coming at ya!
And just in case you'd like something else, here is a painting and a poem.

La Belle Dame Sans Merci
John Keats

I.O WHAT can ail thee, knight-at-arms,

Alone and palely loitering?

The sedge has wither’d from the lake,

And no birds sing.

II.O what can ail thee, knight-at-arms!

So haggard and so woe-begone?

The squirrel’s granary is full,

And the harvest’s done.

III.I see a lily on thy brow

With anguish moist and fever dew,

And on thy cheeks a fading rose

Fast withereth too.

IV.I met a lady in the meads,

Full beautiful—a faery’s child,

Her hair was long, her foot was light,

And her eyes were wild.

V.I made a garland for her head,

And bracelets too, and fragrant zone;

She look’d at me as she did love,

And made sweet moan.

VI.I set her on my pacing steed,

And nothing else saw all day long,

For sidelong would she bend, and sing

A faery’s song.

VII.She found me roots of relish sweet,

And honey wild, and manna dew,

And sure in language strange she said—

“I love thee true.”

VIII.She took me to her elfin grot,

And there she wept, and sigh’d fill sore,

And there I shut her wild wild eyes

With kisses four.

IX.And there she lulled me asleep,

And there I dream’d—Ah! woe betide!

The latest dream I ever dream’d

On the cold hill’s side.

X.I saw pale kings and princes too,

Pale warriors, death-pale were they all;

They cried—“La Belle Dame sans Merci

Hath thee in thrall!”

XI.I saw their starved lips in the gloam,

With horrid warning gaped wide,

And I awoke and found me here,

On the cold hill’s side.

XII.And this is why I sojourn here,

Alone and palely loitering,

Though the sedge is wither’d from the lake,

And no birds sing.

La Belle Dame Sans Merci, good choice. A real pick-me-up for a guy who got a 30 on your quiz. Gay bedight, the gallant night, tried to ace the quiz. Fame and fortune may hold him but they would not be his. Behind his desk he sat and thought of a golden city ravishing. But then the fool thought beaver pelts could use a little radishing.

Quoth E.A. Poe, nevermore.

Doug~ You are hereby given awarded 70 points for the best comment evah! That is some funny stuff.

kyahgirl~ A copy of this painting was purchased by the man of the house because he said it reminded him of me. He claims not to have known the title...uh huh.

I appreciate the Ritter Sport Question. That was fun!
I did quite well I think. No idea about Indian tribes or cellular-something-fibres for that matter :)
Doug, you can´t win everything!

2/10 is only good if you play for the Dodgers.

Doug~ Who needs to win if you can still get the adoration of fans, eh?

Soapie~ So sorry, it is considered a classic, I thought some grace might be extended.

Minka~ That Q was just for you, my blogging cousin! Glad you enjoyed it. There is a salmon called Chinook, so I thought you MIGHT be familiar with that tribal name. The fiber question was too hard for me too! That one was donated by a brilliant textile artist I know.

Egan~ Never fret, darling, you still have your great love of dog blogs and HNT to see you though.

REckon you should do an Aussie quiz.

Did you know for only 3 questions, "A" was the correct answer? I just learned that the goofy way. :)

Doug~ Aaaaw, just want to scratch you behind your ears, what a good boy!

Bluebolt~ I accept donated questions, you should send me an Aussie question.

Sar~ After you pointed out how well 'B' did for you the one time I started making sure they were randomized better. :-p
