Pleae keep your wet, stinky dogma out of my karma.

In 1999 a movie came out which featured this song. Some of my readers may not find the movie, the song, or this take on life in general to be compatible with their own, but hey, I like it, so I'm sharing. Try to enjoy it.

Still
I am the harm which you inflict.
I am your brilliance and frustration.
I'm the nuclear bombs if they're to hit.
I am your immaturity and your indignance.
I am your misfits and your praised.
I am your doubt and your conviction.
I am your charity and your rape.
I am your grasping and expectation.
I see you averting your glances.
I see you cheering on the war.
I see you ignoring your children,
And I love you still.
And I love you still.
I am your joy and your regret.
I am your fury and your elation.
I am your yearning and your sweat.
I am your faithless and your religion.
I see you altering history.
I see you abusing the land.
I see you, your selective amnesia,
And I love you still.
And I love you still.
I see you averting your glimpses.
I see you cheering on the war.
I see you ignoring your children,
And I love you still.
And I love you still.
I see you altering history.
I see you abusing the land.
I see you, your selective amnesia,
I love you still.
And I love you still.
I am your tragedy and your fortune.
I am your crisis and delight.
I am your profits and your prophets.
I am your art, I am your vice.
I am your death and your decisions.
I am your passion and your plight.
I am your sickness and convalescence.
I am your weapons and your light.
I see you holding your grudges.
I see you gunning them down.
I see you silencing your sisters,
And I love you still.
And I love you still.
I see you lie to your country.
I see you forcing them out.
I see you blaming each other,
And I love you still.
And I love you still.
I see you holding your grudges.
I see you gunning them down.
I see you silencing your sisters,
I love you still.
I love you still.
I see you lie to your country.
I see you forcing them out.
I see you blaming each other.
I love you still.
I love you still.
I see you.

Actonbell~ yes, it is Alanis Morissette. When I happened across the stick people through a google search I knew they needed to come over here!

I still haven't seen that movie. It's been recommended to me several times. Gonna add it to my Netflix queue.

Never saw the film, I'll do as Diesel is doing.
And as for Morisette, in this grand world of six degrees of separation-my best friends husbands mother teaches with Alanis' mother in Ottawa where she hails from.
And...that isn't all! Said best friend invited Moi to her wedding in Gananoque, (near Ottawa) and we boogied all night on the dance floor to a dj who played Alanis, With ALANIS' parents! Yay.
That's my almost brush with fame.
Good song dude.

Okay Lo. Music girl! I have one for you. You may have already heard them. I love them, I was recently introduced by a fellow blogger, A Fanciful Twist, Vanessa Valencia. Her blog is here.
Her music recommendation, is Bat For Lashes.
Click on What's A Girl to Do, and Prescilla. I think you might like it. Good beats!
With love,
Blue

Here's how my brain works: all I could think as I read was, "Did she get these lyrics off a lyrics site, or did she actually transcribe them all herself?"

...and the country boy goes, "hmmmmmm"

I can´t see the You-tube clip but I can read teh words and I enjoyed them so much. IT probabbly has a different meaning for me than you, but that makes it even greater.

I love how the "I love you"s tend to get fewer ...

this is a brilliant song!

I'm a big fan of Uninvited, by Alanis, also featured in a little known movie, (circa 1998) called City of Angels. Have you heard of it?

It was a great stopping by your blog. I'm a standup coemdienne, blogging her way to stardom. Feel free to come on by!

Diesel~ I would say, based on what I know of you that you would enjoy it.

Furiousball~ That would be a different one, but also a good song.

BS~ Or a holey one :p

Goldennib~ You are a woman of taste and distinction.

Blue~ I went and took a listen, very nice, I like, THANKS!

Jocelyn~ :p Let me give you some insight into the Logo, if there is an easy way to do it, that's probably how I got it done, unless I didn't know about it beforehand.

Seamus~ Uh huh, you are just simple backwoodsman in this scenario?

Minka~ Oh yes, it is a good one, glad you enjoyed it.

Lucy~ Lucy, I like that song too, and the movie was not too bad. Good luck to you!

i ADORE the movie Dogma! it's one of my all time favs. (honestly, i thought the Catholic "hoopla" over this film was almost as hilarious as the movie, itself)

and i LOVELOVELOVE this song.

well done, girlfriend, well done! (totally cracking up at the extinct stick people in Monday's post, too. poor f*ckers) xox

Alanis was awesome as God in that movie. That movie was great. Well, mainly Jay & Silent Bob were great...damn i love Jay.

And this gives you more proof as to my immature sense of humour...

Think we could sell outfits like the one "GOD" wears in that film?

Neva~ There are moments of absolute genius in that movie, ooooh yes there are.

Arm~ I actually am a big Bob fan :p I think this shows we have mature and discerning taste, no, really, I do!

Susie~ Let's try it!

Balou~ I really like her too, thanks. Go for it, multicolored is festive.

I just read the lyrics and thought, 'but why do you still love them?' I mean I get it, but sometimes I do wonder.

Okay, I'll have to watch this from home. The lyrics are thought provoking and that's always a good thing.

ncrap: no crap. How perfect?
