He closed his eyes and willed his muscles to relax as the wave crashed over him, his cold, cruel mistress lashing him. Days of anticipation and rides on the crest of ecstasy were a counterpoint to times like this, when he knew death was moments away. Once he caught his breath, he'd be ready again.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This whole flash fiction thing is mostly Susie's idea.
