Flash Fiction

Stories in 55 words, I find that I really enjoy writing these. It is a great quick way for me to feel I am being creative without having to actually exert alot of energy. That may be lazy, it is true, but it is more effort toward writing fiction than I had been doing for a while, so I am going to claim it is a step in the right direction. I had alot of fun writing those topical 55s for everyone a couple weeks ago. I think I will do that again. If you would like, leave a topic in the comment box and I shall attempt to write about it.
Squinting, she watched the sun play along the rippling water. She looked across to mountains she could only see because she knew where they were. This was home, the smell, the sight, the sound. There were memories stretched out over hundreds of miles here, every one of them telling her she was where she belonged.

The small set of cups was carried to the table along with the tiny creamer and sugar bowl. Newly ground coffee and fresh cold water were standing by, awaiting the last critical ingredient for this experience. There is one thing that can be steadfastly relied on to improve one's enjoyment of any espresso, excellent company.

You know, I have a sense of deja vu over that first picture, not quite sure what is causing it.

How about a story about a guy that steals his kids camera to use during the day?

You make it seem so easy! One of these days I will have to sit down and actually try to write 55 flash fiction. I am a little worried that my vocabulary is not good enough...but i wonæt know it until I try!
Those are some funly cups by the way. Do you serve them to grown-ups?

Great stories as always. The first one feels so right. Kind of like what goes through my mind when I'm in my back yard.

Lime~ The events in these stories on are based on an artistic interpretation of similar events. I do like that topic, interesting possibilities...

G~ Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you like it. That could be a very poignant topic, wheels are spinning already!

Candace~ I'll save you a seat if you want, ya capricious contributor. Then we can sit in the back of the wagon together and whisper and giggle and stuff. And you HAVE to give me at least one topic here, I had a blast squeezing as many as I could into the last one I did for you.

Susie~ Those are demitasse cups, the perfect size for a shot of espresso, and yes, I do drink out of them :p

Idiot~ Maybe you have been to that same place at some point or something, I dunno. Good pic though, huh?

Lily~ YAY!! For you, I would even deign to stock *shudder* funyons.
See how much I love you?

Grunt~ Thanks, for those of us who are a step away from mainlining caffeine this is one of the best delivery systems, AND the lil cups are soooo cute! :p

Minka~ Oh that would be fabulous, and I would be glad to help if you wanted any assistance,
email me :D
but I know you could do it without me, your English seems to be very well up to the challenge.
Those are my favorite demitasse cups, I actually don't let the kids use them very often, mostly just for adults drinking espresso, but they have their own set, with Snoopy pictures and Italian phrases.

Kyahgirl~ I was writing when you posted so I didn't see you there!
It's good to be where the universe fits around you best, isn't it?

Topic suggestion: imaginary world or friend.
Hope you like it, teacher!!

YAY to the funyuns... I feel so warm and fuzzy and LOVED!

Now I think I'll go find out how I can make some extra money from HOME! Wow!

Kyahgirl said...

Topic suggestion-riding your motorcycle and a bee flies into your helmet!

Stephanie said...

Ooooo - I like them both!! The first one really speaks to me.

Hehe - I'm eating Funyuns right now!! Where'd Lily go???

Logophile said...

Teacher's Pet~ Aah, lots of potential there, good one, thanks.

Lily~ I have deleted them from my blog and from my memory, what are you talking about, are you going to charge for the view from your front porch?

Kyahgirl~ I cannot believe you would SAY such a thing to me
:p
I will see what I can do.

Snav~ Lily is out watching construction workers, she saved you a seat. Glad you liked the 55s!

I love living by the ocean. It's so peaceful and calming. I'm going for a visit this weekend! Ah... the salty sea air..

LOL! OK :-)

tangerine (fruit OR colour), piece of lint, globe, broken VCR tape

As many or as few as you like. Globe can be world map or just something spherical. :-)

So THAT'S what flash 55 is all about - I didn't realise. Cool.

Damasta~ I have always lived within a mile or so of a beach except when I was in Florida, where I got deathly ill. I blame the lack of ocean access.

Candace~YAY, fun topics, I shall work on those. Thanks :D

Trundling Grunt~ Yes, it is about making lazy people feel creative, at least in my case. Some people have other reasons.

I really like your 55 fiction. One of these days, I may finally throw in my hat.

And how is it, that you find the cutest photos? If you tell me you own the smiley teacup set I might wet my pants. Maybe.
